WildBlue Associated Companies - The Wireless Center

posted in WildBlue Affiliates, Better Business Bureau, Service Rants |

When I purchased my WildBlue Satellite Internet Service, I did so through The Wireless Center in Gautier, MS (near Ocean Springs, MS).

Of course, during the initial sales and setup - they were great to deal with but after talking with them about how poor the WildBlue service is - the owner got VERY offensive, raised his voice, and basically told me to go screw myself because he was not interested in helping me.

The funniest part about the whole ordeal, was my intent on calling The Wireless Center in Gautier, MS was to have them come get the satellite and modem. I WAS GOING TO GIVE IT TO THEM - FOR FREE! All they had to do was come pick it up, but as soon as I said the service was crap, he went off on me and would not let me get a word in edgewise.

I have filed a Better Business Bureau complaint against The Wireless Center in Gautier, MS, although I doubt it will do any good since they are not even a member.

Anyone living in the Mississippi Gulf Coast region and thinking about doing business with The Wireless Center - think twice. They are very friendly as long as you are handing over your money but as soon as an issue arises, they will not even listen to you before automatically going over the edge!

Caveat Emptor! (Buyer Beware)

Like I stated in my post. I did not expect them to respond - and they didn’t.

I received my response from the Better Business Bureau of Mississippi who stated:

The Better Business Bureau did not receive a response to your complaint. We regret to advise you that our effort to assist you in reaching any form of voluntary settlement have been unsuccessful. We are closing this complaint as “NO RESPONSE.” Your complaint, with proper notations, will remain as part of this file.

Needless to say, I expected this but maybe someone will notice it someday…

I strongly agree with all the complaints against Wildblue and would certainly welcome a class action lawsuit. They claim (and still do…check out their homepage) “lightning fast connections, always on, no more delays”. I live in an area where DSL is not available and the salesperson really sold me on the package. I paid $289 and 23 days later my installer showed up. From day one I never, ever experienced fast internet (much less lightning fast) and was told that all I would have to do was upgrade to the “pro package, $79.95 per month” and that would solve my speed problem. It proved to be slightly faster than our old dial-up. One-third of the time we could not even connect to the internet. It became a joke that a butterfly must have landed on the dish. I would call and be on hold for so long I would give up. I would voice a complaint when I did get through and get put on hold. I actually waited on hold for one hour and twenty minutes when I asked to speak to the retention department. We simply quit using the internet like we used to. After many, many phone calls and complaints and six months later, the system went totally down. Called service and was told that they would schedule a servicecall for us at a cost of $95.00 and perhaps they could get here in three weeks. That was it…..I called and informed their retention department (Nicole) that I was cancelling and of couse was told absolutely not, you have a contract and you must pay the remainder months. I am trying to warn others…stay away from this company. They do NOT care about customers or service after the sale !

Today, while camping at the State Park in Gautier and throwing some money at the local economy I was confronted by the man who runs the Wireless Center in Gautier. I, by the by, am a little old lady who was standing in a vacant field, adjacent to his building but not close. soaking up some sun with my poodle, who was politely laying in the grass. I was engaged in a phone call. This man came at me, out of the blue, yelling and puffing his chest telling me to get off my phone and listen to him. He demanded that I leave the field and remove my dog. He was unnecessarily gruff and behaved as though he was looking for a fight from someone….but ME, a little old lady?

I can’t even imagine doing business with this character…but I did meet a lovely lady attorney who lives in Gautier - FYI.
